UTEP @ KENNESAW STATE - 7 PM
Kennesaw 5 in a row... looking to be bowl eligible in its first ever full FBS season. (It's only been done 8 times ever). Owl Town's gonna be going crazy. This is one of the most anticipated games ever played in this building.
Only losses are to power 4 programs

UTEP coming off first FBS win. (Hunter Watson left the game in 2nd quarter)

New Touchdown celebration?
Kennesaw State defense strong on 3rd down and redzone (towards the top of the country) - UTEP has been terrible on 3rd downs and in the redzone.

UTEP finally commits to a QB Skylear Locklear... who out of nowhere is running the football. That's now back to back games where Locklear's been using his legs. I think Scotty Walden might utilize some QB runs in this game to avoid 3rd and longs. Kennesaw State's played 3 games in a row against pocket passers.

The matchup on the other side of the ball is interesting because we know how strong the Kennesaw State offense has looked. But UTEP's defense has played pretty well this year.

Looks like Kennesaw plans on using both QBs. Amari Odom left the game in the 2nd half. It looked like he was injured but I'm reading that they might actually just be using a two QB system.

We really don't want to sleep on UTEP's defense. They've played really well. Remember, they threw 5 interceptions in the LA Tech game... the defense actually played well and it looks like they're in good shape healthwise. LB Jayden Wilson and CB Neil Campbell might both be back. "hopeful".

Is it crazy that I kinda wanna bet the under in this game? I think UTEP's defense is capable of giving Kennesaw State some problems... the problem is I can't bet UTEP because their offense is just so terrible. Here's why betting an under is sketchy. Look at the pace.

I missed the 51.5... it was open for about an hour and I was thinking about it. Didn't get it. My bet would be under.
JAMES MADISON @ TEXAS STATE - 8 PM
Well we had what was supposed to be the Sun Belt game of the year... and it was a beatdown. So the whole "there might be a new sheriff in the Sun Belt East division... it was put to rest quickly. James Madison actually fumbled the opening kick and ODU returned it for a touchdown. James Madison received the opening kick... and it was 7-0 Old Dominion 4 seconds into the game. ODU led 27-21 before James Madison scored 42 unanswered.

So vibes are high at James Madison (talking possible CFB Playoff bid)... vibes with this Texas State program aren't so high. This team just cannot catch a break. They move to 0-3 in conference... and all 3 games were heartbreaking in consecutive weeks. They had 500+ total yards of offense in all 3 games. This is the first 3 game losing streak we've seen from Texas State during GJ Kinne's tenure.

But we don't want to sleep on Texas State. Remember, this team was ranked as the 2nd best team in the Sun Belt West to start the season.
James Madison is gonna run the ball.

JMU's offense has been much better at home... and this isn't new btw. This was the case last year as well. James Madison went 9-4 last season... but they were just 3-3 on the road.

And speaking of home/away splits. Texas State is also a team that's played much better at home during GJ Kinne's tenure. And looking at their schedule, the Bobcats have kinda been through the gauntlet so far this year. They've been playing a lot of tough road games. It's going to be a "Black Out". Tuesday night. National TV.

And this Texas State defense may not be good... but the defensive front seems to be trending in the right direction. S Ryan Nolan (2nd leading tackler) has been added to the injury report and is listed as questionable. They might be getting S Will Mitchell back though. He's been out since Week 3.

On the other side of the ball, we've got a battle.

Texas State RG Telle Lockette is going to miss his 3rd straight game... but that hasn't stopped Texas State from ripping off huge plays against two respectable defenses.

James Madison has been absolutely elite defensively in conference play, like they are every year.

But one thing James Madison's defense has struggled with this year is explosive plays... Texas State's offense rips off big plays nonstop.
