NHL Picks Wednesday 1/25
Of course, we can't get 3 winning nights in a row what was I thinking. Thank God for the Canucks coming through for us and the solid defense of Colorado and Washington to keep the total under. Today is a new day and we have 5 games on the ice tonight. Let's get back the losses from last night and keep it moving.
Â
Islanders (+110) at Senators (-130)
Puck Drop 7:05pm EST
Game Total 6.0
Over (-115) / Under (-105)
Stews Pick: Under 6 (-105) .5u
Both teams have not been playing well as the Islanders have lost 5 straight games and 9 of their last 10. Senators have only won 1 game in their last 5 and are 4-6 in their last 10 games. These teams need to turn things around and that makes it hard to pick a winner in this contest so im going to side with the under as both squads have a hard time finding the net averaging less than 3 goals a game. Islanders have the advantage with goaltending and defense so I can see this being low scoring.

Hurricanes (-115) at Stars (-105)
Puck Drop 8:35pm EST
Game Total 6.0
Over (+100) / Under (-120)
Stews Picks: Hurricanes ML (-115) .5u, Under 6 (-120) .75u
These teams are very similar and along with the Rangers and Leafs game, this should be a very interesting contest. Canes have won 4 of their last 5 games and are tied for top of the Metro Division with New Jersey and Dallas is just barely 1st in the Central Division by only 1 point. This game is really tough to call because both squads are playing really well but I'll give the advantage to Carolina right now having a little more rest and being able to prepare for whatever the Stars have planned. Regardless of who wins, I don't think this will be high scoring since both teams have excellent goalies and defense.
Â
Canucks (+145) at Kraken (-165)
Puck Drop 10:05pm EST
Game Total 6.5
Over (-135) / Under (+115)
Stews Picks: Kraken 60 Min ML (+100) .75u, Under 6.5 (+115) .5u
Vancouver was able to salvage our night last night by beating the Blackhawks, but I don't think they have a good time tonight in Seattle. The Kraken are playing really well, and I can't see them loosing on home ice to this Knucks team who is on the second night of back-to-back games. Both previous matchups between these teams have produced really high goal totals but I don't see that happening tonight. Maybe 6 total goals but that still keeps us under. Vancouver has won both of the past games, so I think the Kraken have a plan in place to limit the scores from the Canucks and get this home win.
