Memorial Day Morning Baseball
Here are some notes and thoughts on the first couple games today. Really not a ton of value if you ask me, so I would keep everything small, i played them for about a half unit personally.
I will have another card this afternoon for the later games.
Brewers @ Cubs :
These teams are playing a double header. I usually do not play them, but the wind is blowing out like crazy (16mph) so let's give them a chance.
Toast Play : over 11.5
Twins (-162) @ Tigers (+134)
These teams have already played 6 times this year and the Twins have won 5 times. Both teams have seen the starting pitcher for the other side and neither team looked great. The Tigers scored 2 runs in the 10th to win that game.
The Twins are 7-3 their last 10, but have lost 3 of 4, and did not look great, even winning against the Royals. Tigers are 4-6 their last 10, winning 2 of their last 3 games.
Beau Brieske (DET) - Average innings eater starter so far. 0-4, but he has not looked horrible and has not got run support. Rays got to him for 6 runs, but for the most part you are looking at 2-3 runs in 5-6 innings.
Dylan Bundy (MIN)- What Bundy do we see? The one that started the year very hot, then got smashed 2 starts in a row. He has looked better his last 2 times out, but that is only 8 total innings.
Toast Pick : Tigers +1.5 (-126)
Padres (-106) @ Cardinals (-110)
Padres hit the road after a 6 game road stand where they went 2-4 against the Brewers and the Pirates. They really struggled with the Pirates and only scored 5 runs in 3 games against the Brewers. The Cardinals have looked good. They lost big yesterday, but before that they had won 6 of 8.
Nick Martinez (SDP) - Nick has looked really good at times this year and at others you see why he went to Japan. He was walking a lot of guys to start the year , kinda got better and yet in his last 2 starts another 5 walks in 9 innings. All in all 2-2 on the year 41K 18BB.
Packy Naughton (STL) - Bullpen guy or short starter. Only has pitched 9 innings this year. Cardinals bullpen as a whole, kinda middle of the pack.
Toast pick : Padres ML (+100)
