MLB Free Plays Sunday 4PMs 7/10

Afternoon games are under way, Toast has some more plays for the 4PMs

ASTROS @ ATHLETICS 4:07 PM

TOAST SAYS

Oakland F5 TT over 1.5 (-110)

Jake Odorizzi will be pitching for the Astros. He has been good for them, but this will be his 2nd start after missing time. He got hit hard his last time out against the Royals, and he has given up 3 or more runs 3 of the last 4 times he has pitched in Oakland. Oakland has hit this in 4 of the last 5 games.

BEAVER NOTE:

OAKLAND CURRENT LINEUP VS ODORIZZI: .466 OBP, 1.111 OPS

ROCKIES @ DIAMONDBACKS 4:10 PM

TOAST SAYS

Rockies ML (-106)

It did not work out last night, but Rockies on the road vs LHP is a spot we like. They are sending out German Marquez to the mound, who has been up and down this year yes, but he is MUCH better on the road. His last 13 IP in Arizona were only 3 runs. Tyler Gilbert is very up and down for Arizona. In his last 3 starts he has been rocked twice, yet his last time out he threw a gem. Rockies #8 in the MLB hitting LHP on the road for the year, I think they give the big man Marquez some run support.

GIANTS @ PADRES 4:10 PM

TOAST SAYS

Padres F5 -.5 (+110)

I love Mckenzie Gore for the Friars in this spot. He got hit hard by the Rockies, but then bounced back and looked really good against the Dodgers and Phillies for a combined 10.1 IP and only 1 run. Alex Wood will be pitching for the Giants. Does not really have great numbers against them, but most of them were not on the road like today. I do not trust the Giants bats just yet, and even though the Padres have not been scoring a ton, I trust them to get a couple off Wood. I also did this SGP.

CUBS @ DODGERS 4:10 PM

TOAST SAYS

Dodgers -1.5 (-115)

We all know this is the only way to play the Dodgers, even though it has been a little scary the last couple games. Urias is on the bump for the Dodgers and he looks like he is back in All-Star form. He gave up 3 in Colorado, but other than that, 5 starts with 2 runs or less. Drew Smyly on the hill for the Cubs. He has not looked good most of the year, and the Dodgers have already seen him once this year, and his last start in LA he gave up 5 runs. I like watching this Cubs team, just do not like the spot tonight.

BLUE JAYS @ MARINERS 4:10 PM

BEAVER SAYS

TOR/SEA OV 7.5 (-120)

After watching some of Gilbert's recent starts I'm not exactly impressed w/ what I've seen. After allowing a combined 17H and 7ER to the A's & Angels, he followed it up w/ a "solid" start against a flat Padres lineup, where he got lucky on numerous occasions.

In his L2 starts vs Tor (2021/22), he's 0-2 w/ a combined 6.55 ERA and 1.55 WHIP thru 11IP. If there's a get-right spot for Toronto, it's against a pitcher they've cranked.

Meanwhile, the Mariners offense even w/ a 2-run performance against Manoah is AVG 5.8 runs per game over their L5 and is facing a bullpen day from a Toronto team that's struggled out of the pen all year.

At 7.5, this simply feels too low, and I think it carries some value
